He started his professional career out of school as a door-to-door salesman in the year 2012 selling pest control items and services. He later became the vice president of sales for the nationally recognized pest control company Aptive Environmental.

He is the son of Kristine Clark Smith. His wife Madalyn Rae Smith passed away from cancer in May of 2023. They had a son and a daughter together.
