Candlemaker most famous as the husband of world-famous fashion designer Marc Jacobs . He was proposed to by Jacobs via flash mob in a Chipotle restaurant, the video of which went viral on Instagram in April 2018.

He spent his early childhood in Switzerland before moving to Los Angeles, where he attended UCLA .

As a Christmas gift for Marc Jacobs, he produced a video of contestants from RuPaul's Drag Race singing "Big Spender" from the musical Sweet Charity.

His parents owned a boarding school. He and Marc married in April 2019.
