American writer and playwright who wrote the 1919 silent film drama In Old Kentucky.
He attended Kentucky State University and Harvard, where he was elected poet of his class.
In 1892 he wrote the libretto for War-Time Wedding.
He married actress Lucy Harding.
He wrote Shifting Sands, which starred actress Gloria Swanson .
