He started in telecommunications early in his career by marketing and distributing sports and industrial films.
He founded Teleguide, Inc. and later Sterling Manhattan Cable in the 1960s to provide cable services. At the time of his death, his net worth was estimated to be $5.4 billion.
He married Helen Ann and together they had six children.
He was a wealthy man from Ohio much like NBA superstar LeBron James .
