Ace Cleveland Indians pitcher who had five straight seasons of over fifteen wins.

The first Connecticut Husky to be drafted in the first round of the MLB draft as well the first of his school to win the Big East Pitcher of the Year Award.

After retiring he joined the Arizona Diamondbacks as a pitching coach.

He had two daughters with his wife Jackie.

He was joined by Orel Hershiser on the Cleveland pitching staff from 1995 to 1997.
