ABOUT CHARLES GILMAN NORRIS

An American novelist and short fiction writer known for works such as The Amateur (1916) and Pig Iron (1926), he also wrote several plays, including The Rout of the Philistines (1922). He published his final novel, Flint, in 1944.

He worked for several years as a journalist before finding literary success.

His works deal with issues such as modern education and women in business.

He married author Kathleen Norris in 1909.
