ABOUT CHARLES WYSOCKI
Acclaimed painter best remembered for his depictions of antiquated American life, as seen in his famous collection "An American Celebration." He is also well-known for his paintings of cats, such as "Frederick the Literate."
He spent two years in West Germany while serving in the U.S. Army.
He also worked as a commercial illustrator and helped found a freelance advertising agency in Los Angeles.
He had three children with Elizabeth G. Lawrence, whom he married in July 1960.
He and Gari Melchers are both famous painters born in Detroit, Michigan.
