ABOUT CHRIS CURTIS
Founding member and drummer of the hard rock and heavy metal pioneering band Deep Purple.
His first instrument was violin, but he ended up pursuing the double bass instead. He was in a band called The Searchers while attending St. Mary's College.
He has been interviewed by BBC Radio.
His father bought him his first drum set.
He was influenced by Fats Domino .
