ABOUT CHRIS D'LACEY

English children's author most famous for writing the award-winning fantasy series The Last Dragon Chronicles. He is the author of more than twenty novels, including Gruffen, which won the Books Factor Award in 2010.

He earned a Biology degree from the University of York. He later worked in the Pre-Clinical Sciences department at the University of Leicester.

His first piece of serious writing was a 250,000-word story about polar bears which he wrote as a gift to his wife. The story later evolved into his first published book, A Hole at the Pole.

He married a woman named Jay, with whom he co-authored Rain & Fire: A Guide to the Last Dragon Chronicles. He has a son named Bob.

He collaborated with author Linda Newbery on the novel From E To You.
