English artist best known for incorporating elephant dung into his paintings. His paintings often attempt to use humor to draw attention to racial and sexual stereotypes.
He studied at the Chelsea School of Art from 1988 to 1991 and the Royal College of Art from 1991 to 1993.
He won the 1998 Turner Prize for his artistic accomplishments.
He was born in Manchester, England, but studied abroad in Zimbabwe and later relocated to Trinidad.
