Fashion and costume designer most associated with the stage outfits she designed for Yeah Yeah Yeah's lead singer, Karen O .

When she moved to New York City in her late-teens, she began hand sewing t-shirts for sale without any formal training.

In 2007, her costume designs were featured at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London as part of a special New York Fashion Now exhibition.

She was born in Marion, Iowa.

She has also created outfits for electronic performer Santi White , better known by her stage name, Santigold.
