American reality star, former football player, and sales representative best known for being the Bachelor in season 26 of The Bachelor , that premiered in January 2022. He is also known for being a contestant on season 18 of The Bachelorette with Bachelorette Michelle Young . He met backlash for telling multiple women he loved them during his appearance on The Bachelor.

He grew up in Eureka, Missouri. He was a walk-on member of the Missouri Tigers football team in his first year at the University of Missouri . He received his bachelor's in health sciences from the school in 2015.

Since July 2016, he has worked as a sales representative for Stryker Corporation, a medical device company. He posts selfies, family photos and The Bachelor updates on his claytonechard Instagram where he has over 290,000 followers.

His parents are Brian and Kelly. He has two brothers named Nate and Patrick. He dated Genevieve Parisi while on The Bachelor.
