ABOUT DAG HAMMARSKJOLD
Second Secretary-General of the United Nations who is one of the select few to be honored with a Nobel Prize posthumously.
His political career began when he was a public servant who became State Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and overlapped that with Governor of the Riksbank.
He also served as a Swedish delegate in the Organization for European Economic Cooperation and Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He was born in Jönköping, Sweden and died in a plane crash.
John F. Kennedy believed him to be one of the greatest statesman ever.
