He was named to the Colorado All State first-team as a senior in high school. He committed to play for Virginia Tech University .

He was named to the All-ACC honorable mention team as a true freshman playing for the Virginia Tech Hokies. His selection in the 2020 NFL Draft marked the first time Bill Belichick gave up a draft pick to move up in a draft.

His parents' names are Stacy and Wesley. His siblings' names are Kailey and Trey.

He played alongside Cam Newton for the 2020 New England Patriots.
