He launched his dangmattsmith channel in August of 2011, initially starting off as a vlogger before finding his calling with Chatroulette and Omegle videos.

He stopped posting original content to Vine in November of 2015 and had earned about 60,000 followers by that time.

He is from Los Angeles, California. His brother Thomas, known on YouTube as Smuuuth, has been featured on his YouTube channel. Sarah Kaynee is his former girlfriend and she's appeared in several of his YouTube videos.
