ABOUT DANIEL CASTANO

Professional southpaw that was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals during the 19th round of the 2016 Major League Draft. He was later acquired by the Miami Marlins via trade in December 2017. Prior to being drafted, he attended Baylor University where he played three years of college baseball.

He initially began his professional career playing for the Johnson City Cardinals. He pitched in exactly 12 games with the team.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the New York Mets on August 8, 2020, as a member of the Marlins. He pitched just four innings.

He grew up living with his family in Orlando, Florida. His father, Alex, was a former collegiate athlete at Rice University.

He was once packaged in a trade that included Zac Gallen .
