Daniel Gunther
ABOUT DANIEL GUNTHER
Canadian military man who served in Bosnia as an infantry member of the United Nations Protection Force. He was killed in action in 1993.
Early in his military career, he joined the Canadian Army's Royal 22nd Regiment. It was with this group that he served in Bosnia.
The accounts of his death vary: he was either killed by a mortar or by an anti-artillery rocket.
After his death, he was honored with the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal.
He and Rob Furlong were both twentieth-century Canadian war heroes.
