ABOUT DANIEL M. NAKAMURA

Music producer known by the name Dan the Automator. He's helped produce albums for the Gorillaz, Miles Kane , and Ben Lee . He and Mary Elizabeth Winstead make up the duo Got a Girl.

He was trained in classical violin, then used his knowledge of music to start DJing in his teens. He produced Dr. Octagonecologyst, Kool Keith's debut album, in 1996.

He founded a record label called 75 Ark, but it only lasted until 2001. He's also been part of a band called Crudo.

He and his brother were raised in San Francisco by their parents, both of whom had been in internment camps during WWII.

He, Del the Funky Homosapien , and Kid Koala fromed Deltron 3030 in 1999.
