ABOUT DANIEL PINCHBECK

A New Age philosopher and author, he is best known for his online magazine, Reality Sandwich. His other published works include Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism and 2012: The Return of Quetzalcoatl.

He founded his first magazine, Open City, in the 1990s. He subsequently wrote for The New York Times, Esquire, The Village Voice, and Rolling Stone.

He published his work, Breaking Open the Head: A Psychedelic Journey into the Heart of Contemporary Shamanism, in 2002.

He grew up in New York City as the son of artist Peter Pinchbeck and author Joyce Johnson.

He once interviewed Russell Brand for an article entitled "There Be Dragons: Daniel Pinchbeck Talks with Russell Brand."
