ABOUT DANN FLOREK
Veteran actor best recognized as Captain Donald Cragen on the television series, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. After living in New York, he moved out to Los Angeles in the 1980's, where he appeared in a number of stage performances.
He dropped out of Eastern Michigan University and earned his first acting role in 1982. Following his departure from EMU, he moved to New York to train at Julliard.
He had memorable film roles in The Flintstones (1994) and Angel Heart (1987). Outside of acting, he is an avid golfer.
He married Karen Florek in 1983 and has a brother named Dave. His wife is an artist, and his brother is also an actor.
He played Mariska Hargitay 's on-screen superior for more than a decade.
