Nicknamed "Kid Dynamite," he is an IBF Flyweight and Super Flyweight Champion.

His first professional fight was a first-round knockout of Raul Hernandez on September 14, 1992.

He has worked TV jobs for Showtime and started his own production company, Danny Romero Productions.

His brother Juan donated a portion of his liver to his father, who was suffering from a rare liver disorder.

He and world champion Johnny Tapia share the same hometown and fought in the same weight class.
