ABOUT DARREN KELLY

Northern Irish professional football manager and former athlete and player who initially played as a center-back. He is the sporting director of the National League club Hartlepool United. He has been the General Manager for the York City Football Club since the year 2023.

He graduated from The University of Salford with a Masters in Sports Directorship.



He began his career at hometown club Derry City before moving to English Third Division club Carlisle United. Kelly was capped 11 times by Northern Ireland at under-21 level from 2000 to 2001.

He has worked as a coach for FA, York City FC, Sunderland AFC, FAI and the Irish FA. He stands 6'1" tall.

He was born and raised in Ireland.

He and Shane Long are both soccer players from Ireland.
