ABOUT DARREN LEWIS
Former professional baseball player for Major League Baseball and coach at California State University, East Bay. He initially gained fame as a center fielder for teams like the San Francisco Giants and the Boston Red Sox.
He attended the University of California, Berkeley before beginning his major league career with the Oakland Athletics.
In 1994, as a member of the San Francisco Giants, he was awarded the Gold Glove Award.
He was born and raised in Berkeley, California and lived on and off in California for much of his life.
Former coach Dusty Baker named his son after Darren during his time with the San Francisco Giants.
