ABOUT DATTA GAEKWAD

Captain of the Indian team in 1959, he then captained Baroda to their first Ranji title in nine years in 1956.

He played his early cricket for Bombay University.

He served as the Deputy Comptroller to the Baroda state after his retirement from cricket.

His son is the cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad .

He was captain of the Indian national team, much like Mahendra Dhoni .
