Athlete and World Champion referred to by others as "The Man." He is a six-time Ironman World Championship Winner. He won in 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, and 1987.
He attended UC Davis, where he played water polo.
He is known for his competitive nature and rivalry with Mark Allen . He was the first person inducted into the Ironman Hall of Fame.
He has three children from his previous wife, Anna.
He and Caitlyn Jenner both gained recognition as triathletes.
