ABOUT DAVID CRYER
Co-founder of the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. He is well known for playing Firmin in The Phantom of the Opera both on and off-Broadway as well as Broadway roles in The Fantasticks and West Side Story among others.
Instead of attending Harvard Law School where he had been accepted already, he was already invested in a production of Oklahoma! as the lead character Curly and chose to pursue a theater career instead.
Other notable Broadway titles he appeared in include The King and I, The Sound of Music, and Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.
With his first wife Gretchen Kiger, he had a son named Jon Cryer who is best known for his role on the CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men.
He had a role in the Clint Eastwood film Escape from Alcatraz.
