ABOUT DAVID EMANUEL HOFFMAN
Prolific journalist and author of non-fiction who is best known for his book The Untold Story of the Cold War Arms Race and its Dangerous Legacy. The book, published in 2010, earned him the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction.
He graduated from the University of Delaware. He then moved to Washington, D.C. to work for the Capitol News Service as a journalist.
During the early 1980's, he joined The Washington Post, where he subsequently covered the Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush presidencies. He earned three national journalism awards for his time covering the White House.
He was born Palo Alto, California, and subsequently raised in Delaware.
He received acclaim for his 2015 book The Billion Dollar Spy: A True Story of Cold War Espionage and Betrayal from fellow author David Ignatius .
