ABOUT DAVID LINDLEY
Multi-instrumentalist most famous for his work with Jackson Browne . He briefly collaborated with Warren Zevon and Dolly Parton . While he played several instruments, he was mainly associated with the lap steel guitar. His song "Mercury Blues" has garnered more than 5 million streams on Spotify.
He was part of the psychedelic 1960s band Kaleidoscope.
His diverse influences led to him combining bluegrass and folk with elements of African, Arabic, Asian, Celtic, Malagasy, and Turkish music. As a vocalist, he was highly regarded for his falsetto abilities. In his youth, he won the Topanga Canyon Banjo and Fiddle contest five times between 1967 and 1971. He plays so many instruments that Acoustic Guitar Magazine declared him to be a maxi-instrumentalist.
He was encouraged to play the banjo by his parents as a teenager.
He is a frequent collaborator with singer-songwriter Jackson Browne .
