ABOUT DEBBIE MACOMBER

Bestselling American author who has published over 150 romance novels and works of women's fiction. Her popular works include the Cedar Cove, Dakota, Heart of Texas, and Blossom Street series.

She suffered from dyslexia in her youth and ended her formal education following her high school graduation. Nevertheless, she was able to publish Starlight, the first of her many novels, in 1983.

Her numerous honors include the B. Dalton Award, the Quill Award for romance, and a Romance Writers of America RITA Award.

She raised four children with her husband, Wayne. Her youngest son, Dale Macomber, died in 2011 at the age of thirty-six.

She and Michael Chabon are both successful, Washington-born authors.
