ABOUT DEE LESTARI
Novelist who has achieved critical acclaim and commercial success with works like Filosofi Kopi, Madre and the books in the Supernova series. Prior to her writing career, she was the singer for the band Rida Sita Dewi, with whom she recorded three albums.
She got her start as a backup vocalist for artists like Chrisye. She earned a degree in international relations from Parahyangan Catholic University.
She released her first solo album, Out of Shell, in 2006.
She has a son named Keenan with singer and ex-husband Marcell Siahaan. In 2008, she married Reza Gunawan, with whom she has a daughter named Atisha.
A film adaptation of her novel Perahu Kertas was directed by Hanung Bramantyo .
