ABOUT DEREK O'BRIEN

Indian TV show host and politician known for hosting Bournvita Quiz Contest, one of the longest-running game shows in Indian television history. In 2011, he was sworn in as a Member of Parliament of the All Indian Trinamool Congress.

He graduated from Scottish Church College and worked as a sports journalist early in his career.

He's the founder and CEO of Derek O'Brien & Associates, which has programs with over 4,000 schools in India and is known for its quiz and reference books.

He has two younger brothers, Andy and Barry. He and his first wife Rila Banerjee have a daughter.

Mamata Banerjee made him the head of the Passenger Services Committee of the Indian Railways in 2009.
