ABOUT DISHA VAKANI
Most famous for playing the role of Daya Jethalal Gada on a comedic Indian television series called Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, she also appeared in such Bollywood films as Devdas and Love Story 2050.
She studied drama at the Gujarat Arts & Sciences College in Ahmedabad, India, and went on to act in numerous theatrical productions.
In 2008 and 2009, she won two consecutive Indian Television Academy Awards.
The daughter of a prominent theater actor, she grew up in India's western Gujarat state. Her brother, Mayur Vakani, played her character's brother on the series Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In 2015 she married Mayur.
She co-starred with Dilip Joshi on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
