ABOUT DON HERTZFELDT

American animator, artist, entertainer, and filmmaker who is a two-time Academy Award nominee in the category of Best Animated Short Film. He has also been a two-time winner of the Sundance Film Festival's Grand Jury Prize in the "Short Film" category.

He attended Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, California. In the year 1998, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Film Studies from UC Santa Barbara .

He is particularly known for his traditional approach to animation, and he has typically avoided using computers in his animation process. He is a former fencer. He is best known for animated works such as World of Tomorrow, Rejected, and It's Such a Beautiful Day.

He has been in a relationship with his girlfriend.

One of his favorite films is the Steven Spielberg -directed film Close Encounters of the Third Kind .
