ABOUT DONNA J. STONE
Poet and philanthropist remembered for Wielder of Words, a poetry collection published in the last decade of the twentieth century. Her best-known individual poem remains "Mother at 75."
In her early adulthood, as a result of her young son's illness and subsequent impairment, she involved herself in children's rights activism, eventually establishing the Matthew J. Pascal Foundation in honor of her son.
She briefly worked as a fashion model.
She was married twice and had two sons. Her first husband, John Pascal, was a playwright who produced work on Broadway.
She and journalist Bob Greene were both natives of Bexley, Ohio.
