ABOUT DONNY LALONDE
Nicknamed "Golden Boy", he held the WBC Light Heavyweight title from November, 1987 to November, 1988.
He ran away from home at 15 and worked odd jobs around Winnipeg.
His nickname "Golden Boy" comes from the golden statue atop the Manitoba Legislative Building in his boxing home town of Winnipeg.
His father was a salesman who left the family when Donny was just 3.
His final fight was a loss via unanimous decision to Missouri's Virgil Hill on May 7, 2003.
