ABOUT DOROTHY NORWOOD
Gospel singer who has recorded more than forty albums over the course of her prolific career. She is known primarily as a solo artist and a member of the band The Caravans.
She moved to Chicago in 1956 and began singing alongside fellow gospel singer Mahalia Jackson .
Her album "The Caravans Paved the Way" earned her the Robert Estevis Award.
She and her family began touring as a family band when she was eight years old.
She and Casting Crowns' Mark Hall are two of the Atlanta area's most recognizable gospel singers.
