ABOUT DOUG HINDS
Sprinter who competed in both the 400M and the 4x400M relay at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.
He was a track and field star at Lamar University in Texas.
He qualified for the 1980 Summer Olympics, but joined the boycott against the games, and thus did not compete.
His two brothers, Jerry and Sterling, also competed for Canada's national track and field team.
His best event was the 400M, which was later popularized by American sprinter Michael Johnson .
