During his time as a sociology, economics, and anthropology student at the University of Haifa in Israel, he founded a theater company.
After attending the University of Southern California's film school, he directed a music video for then-unknown performer "Weird Al" Yankovic.
He was born in Israel to a family of Spanish heritage. He married Virginia Pereira in 2000.
He produced, directed, and co-wrote Not Forgotten, a 2009 film that starred Paz Vega .
