ABOUT DUANE CHASE
American child actor who played the role of Kurt von Trapp in the popular 1965 film version of The Sound of Music . He started appearing in commercials when he was eleven years old and also worked as a model.
He studied geology at both UC Santa Barbara and the University of Alabama . As a young man, he briefly worked for the United States Forest Service.
After retiring from acting, he designed computer programs used by geologists.
He married Petra Maria, a German-born nurse, in 1987.
He co-starred with Julie Andrews in The Sound of Music.
