ABOUT DURO TILJAK
Croatian artist and teacher who painted in the abstract style of magical realism. He served as editor of both Culture and Writer during the 1930s.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb and with Wassily Kandinsky in Moscow.
He was a member of the Croatian Academy of Arts and Sciences and taught at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.
He died in Zagreb, the same city in which he was born.
He was influenced by the work of the renowned artist Henri Matisse .
