Former Dutch-American midfielder who earned 484 caps and scored 119 goals in his 16-season professional career.

He made his professional Dutch soccer debut with VVV-Venlo in 1988.

He was named the U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year in 2001.

He was born to a U.S. Air Force pilot and a Dutch mother, Annemien Stewart.

He was teammates with Landon Donovan on the U.S. national team during his final four seasons of international play.
