Edmond Locard
ABOUT EDMOND LOCARD
French scientist known as the "Sherlock Holmes of France". He created the formula for the basic principle of forensic science. He would start one of the first ever labs dealing with forensics to catch criminals.
He studied medicine and law at Lyon and became an assistant to professor Alexandre Lacassagne until 1910.
He produced the seven-volume work Traite de Criminalistique.
He grew up with his family in Saint-Chamond, France.
Detective writer Georges Simenon attended some of his lectures in 1919 and 1920.
