ABOUT EDNA DORE
Remembered best for her role as Mo Butcher on the popular British soap opera EastEnders, Dore also appeared in the 1988 movie High Hopes and in episodes of Casualty, Holby City, and The Bill.
During the World War II years, she entertained Allied troops as a member of the Entertainments National Service Association (ENSA). She later danced and acted at the Whitehall Theatre and the Royal National Theatre (both in London, England).
From 2003 until 2004, she had a recurring role on the BBC comedy series Eyes Down.
Her nearly six-decade marriage to stage actor and director Alexander Dore resulted in a son named Michael.
On EastEnders, she played the mother of the Frank Butcher character (portrayed by Mike Reid ).
