Elias James Corey
ABOUT ELIAS JAMES COREY
American organic chemist who won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry for developing a theory and methodology for organic synthesis in 1990. He spent the majority of his career working as a professor at Harvard University.
He earned both a bachelor's degree and a Ph.D. from MIT.
He was awarded the National Medal of Science in 1988 and the Priestley Medal from the American Chemical Society in 2004.
He had three children with his wife Claire.
He won the National Medal of Science in 1988, the same year that Milton Friedman did.
