ABOUT ELIJAH FENTON
British poet, translator, and biographer known for works such as Marianne and Life of John Milton. He also served as an editor for a collection of Edmund Waller's poetry.
He studied at Jesus College, Cambridge and later worked as a secretary, school master, and tutor.
His memory was honored by the mounting of a plaque at St. Michael and St. Mary Magdalene's Church in Easthampstead, England.
He was born in Shelton, England, a town that was later re-named Stoke-on-Trent.
He assisted Alexander Pope , who was his neighbor, with the English translation of the Odyssey.
