ABOUT EMILY ROONEY
American journalist, television and radio host, and news producer who gained fame as the host of Beat the Press. She has been the recipient of a number of prestigious awards for her work, including the National Press Club's Arthur Rowse Award for Press Criticism.
She graduated from American University in Washington, D.C.
She received honorary doctoral degrees from the University of Massachusetts Boston and Westfield State University.
She is the daughter of 60 Minutes correspondent Andy Rooney .
She has worked alongside Peter Jennings as executive producer for World News Tonight on ABC.
