Former second-row and flanker who debuted for the Widnes Vikings in 1989 and also played internationally for Tonga and New Zealand.
He attended Palmerston North Boys' High School in New Zealand.
He also played for the Wainuiomata Lions during his career.
His nephew Fred Koloto became an American football offensive lineman.
Epi Taione also represented Tonga internationally in rugby.
