ABOUT ERIC BURTON

Soul singer and songwriter from Austin, Texas. He is known as the lead singer of the psychedelic soul band Black Pumas . The group released its self-titled debut album on June 21, 2019.

He started performing in musical theater. He was a busker at the Santa Monica Pier and in Austin.

In 2020, his band performed on several TV shows, including The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon , Late Night with Seth Meyers , and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert .

He and his siblings were raised by a single mother. His two uncles helped raised him.

In January 2021, President-Elect Joe Biden invited the Black Pumas to perform virtually during his inauguration activities.
