ABOUT ERIC GEHRIG

American defender who broke into the MLS with the Columbus Crew in 2011. He began his professional career in 2008 with the Chicago Fire Premier in the USL.

He played college soccer at Loyola University Chicago from 2006 to 2009.

He made his firs MLS start on July 6, 2011 in a game against Vancouver, playing all 90 minutes in a 1-0 Columbus victory.

He was raised with a twin brother named Greg.

He was joined by Aaron Schoenfeld on the Columbus Crew in 2012.
