ABOUT ERIC MICHAEL HAASE

Professional catcher that was drafted by the Cleveland Indians during the seventh round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft. He was later acquired by the Detroit Tigers via trade in January 2020. He was named American League Rookie of the Month in July 2021.

Prior to being drafted, he attended the Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan. He was named Michigan's Mr. Baseball and the Michigan Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year during his senior year.

After being named American League Rookie of the Month in July 2021, he became the first Tigers' rookie to win the award in over a decade. He finished the month with a .265 batting average and 9 home runs.

He lives with his wife, Maria, and their children. He is a native of the Detroit, Michigan area.
